4 and 22 Months

Happy 4 months Stud Muffin (a few days late)

You.make.us.so.happy. You smile almost every minute, the rest of the minutes are used filling your drawers. Looking up at your sister is your favorite hobby. You and I have a serious crush on each other. You're dad is ready to play baseball with you, but I'm not ready for you grow (at all) yet. Your sister and you are best friends, and will be I'm sure forever.
Love your laugh. Love your smile. Love your sweet sweet peacemaker spirit.

Love always,
Mom

(yeah sometimes she snacks on crunchy peanut butter)

Dear Rea

You have so much sass. I'm not sure how it all fits in such a small body. With the limited vocabulary that you have, you find a way give me attitude now and then. And yet, you are so, so, sweet, and loving. You give your brother, dad, and I more loves than we deserve. But we are grateful for every single one. You say "hi" to everyone that we pass (always makes them smile).  You're so nurturing. So kind to little brother. You seem to be the center of each others' little worlds already! Remember that he looks up to you. Try to remember that when other things in life fail you, you will still have him. And of course your dad and I. Reagan you have taught us more than I feel like I will EVER be able to teach you. And boy, do you love to learn. "What's that? What's that" seem to be the majority of the words that come out of your mouth lately. You love to sing and dance. And you REALLY love to play with mommy and daddy. You always say "hand, hand, hand!" Which is your way of asking us to please give you our hand and come sit and read a book or have a tea party. But you are also quite independent and already have a beautiful imagination. I will always be here for you. No matter what. Really though....no matter what. My love is unconditional.

Love you little one,

Mom

2nd month of life, a little late

Dear Homer boy,

Emmett, your mom loves you. Like a whole lot. Don't turn 3 months. Slow down for crying out loud.
You've started talking. You've had special things to say. I have let you start to sleep through the night, that wasn't easy. You made a sad plea against it, that I almost gave in to. Even pulled on your dad's heart strings, whether he would like to admit it or not. You're sister is anxious to play with you. Each time she says "Hi Menett" to you, she makes sure to take your hand and wave to herself, as she knows you wish you could do yourself.
Can't wait to watch you grow and learn.  It amazes me how quickly time has flown. I enjoy every second I can get to snuggle you.
I'm nervous as I imagine the type of mom you and your sister deserve and it intimidates me, a lot. But it also inspires me. I am going to work so hard to create memories and traditions, along with moments of teaching and love. You mean more than words could ever describe. Let's stay friends forever please?

You're such a sweet heart. Love you so deeply,

Mom

The new man in my life

I mean really???^^^^^^

Dearest Emmett

I didn't know I still had so much love to give.
But....do I ever.

You poop... frequently...and we all know immediately when you have...
You grunt loudly. And often.
You have looked like a little man from day one.

Your sister adores you. This bond, the two of you share, will only grow stronger with time.
And as much as I would love for your growing to slow WAY down, I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I am a little excited to see you a little older and be able to watch you two interact.
That will help this mom come to terms with the whole growing up idea.

I have a hard time laying you down at night. I just sit by you and watch you for a while. I'm not use to us having so much distance in between us.

Son, I have known since you were still in my belly that you were going to be a peacemaker. I'm expecting that you will have your sassy moments. But in our family I know that your sweet spirit is going to bring peace to our home.
I also am planning on your sister doing most of the talking in your behalf. It's okay to have your own voice too. I am anxious to see your personality.
But I could live in this teeny tiny stage of your life for almost always.

love always,
your mom

remember this...

I sure do.

Seems so long ago.

Dinner Disater!

So Basically I am a decent cook.
I wouldn't call myself brilliant but generally I can execute a meal.
Well a couple nights ago totally ruined my track record.
I failed miserably.
I spent quite a bit of time making "Orange Chicken"
It smelt amazing. We were excited to dig in.
With one nibble I saw that the chicken was WAY overcooked.
I followed the directions perfectly.
BUT... in further evaluation I realized that my problem laid or lyed (?) in the size of the chicken pieces
I cut them too tiny and cooked them as the directions said
four hours on low... (I should have known!)
Man that made me preeeety grumpy (just ask the hubs).
So... I had to save the night with these beauties (sarcasm intended!)

 an exact replica of THESE
I know right? The resemblance is spot on...with a few minor differences.

Okay all jokes aside they were tasty.
Also... they are green for Christmas spirit.
Not so pretty but oh so tasty. Thanks pintrest!

On another subject The Sing Off never lets me down but it did a little last week
but then it REALLY did on Monday night. So sad. Vocal Point...we will sorely miss you.

Now for a few shots of the babes.
Necessary, I must say.
My mom heard about a brilliant idea that many folk out there are doing and we decided to do with Reagan.
Monthly growth comparison pictures. We chose to do ours in her crib.
So here is her 4 month pic. (See older post for older crib pics)
